Post 2: The Second Acquisition: The Blue Bike

After I'd acquired the orange bike and started to collect the parts I needed, I came across this one which looked like I could repair it using mainly the extra parts acquired in "job-lot" purchases of parts required for the orange bike. Hopefully I'd need  very few extra parts. Of course that turned out to be absolutely wrong, but nonetheless I tried. I've described the resto of this blue bike  as I did this one first to prepare for the orange... but here is a selection of "as purchased" pictures and the text of the original ad. Text of ad follows.... "For Sale is my Honda Express project that is 99% all there. Indicators missing. Will need work. Bought it about a year ago and only took the head off.  Will need wiring sorted as it was cut through but easily reconnected as it is still there. Bad . Will need at least a new sleeve and piston fitted . Head is OK. See pic...

POST 1: The FIRST Acquisition; the orange bike

 Bought this NC50 via fb mktplace... lots missing but priced well below going level for these and might be passed on easily. Ad below... Although I think I definitely overpaid... I didnt pay that much! Im houng yo attempt to get this going and sell it on as a working bike but I wont be beautifying it... thats down to the next owner. Please search for posts on any of the bikes systems to see how I tackled them. I got this for less than advertised but it has some obvious problems. Firstly several parts are missing... mainly covers and lights. I noticed the airfilter and carb cover, exhaust cover, front light and indicators, rear light, number plate mount and indicators. I since discovered that the footrest fairings and post trim below saddle and speedo nacelle were missing too. The head had been removed and the barrel separated from the siezed piston. I got the barrel (seemed badly scored) but the piston was missing. Good news was that there was no play in big end bearing. Steering h...
